From little Acorns…..

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Also this week I have been coaching at The Acorn and it was a terrific first lesson.  After some jacket swapping and a few changed gloves they quickly took to some of the basic moves.  With a little persuasion the hits got harder and as they got their “eye” in for distance and aim it was great to see their confidence levels rise. They had some really searching questions for me at the end of the session and I cant wait for next week.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to go over to Rosehill school in Westonbirt and spent a lovely morning there with their staff. BuccaneerBlades will hopefully be starting an afterschool club in the next term and Ive been invited to one of their assemblies to meet some of the children. Im very excited and looking forward to  answering some questions and taking along the equipment to show them what fencing is all about.

This week has seen the first BuccaneerBlades fencing lessons  at Wynstones. They have a gorgeous hall that is fantastic for fencing and Im sure they are going to get better and better. They are a great group with great co-ordination and balance and that is always a great place to start.

Busy, busy, busy

February is just flying by! The scout and cub group taster sessions have been coming thick and fast these last few weeks and with the primary school work it has been a hectic few weeks loading and unloading kit from the cars.
Half term is proving a great opportunity to catch up with paperwork and of course update the website – hope you all like the new look!
